SpaceObServer is a hard disk space manager for Windows 2000/XP/2003. It scans structures, sizes and properties of selected directories or whole drives, using a background service, and stores them in an MS Access, MS SQL Server or IBM DB2 database. In a client application the collected data can be viewed and browsed in hierarchical and tabular views and 3D bar, pie and line charts. For post processing tables can be exported to Excel or text files. Charts can be saved in a common image format. You can print a customizable report for scanned file systems. By the archived data you are able to track the development of the space usage, or simulate the size and structure of directory trees for a previous date. Large varieties of file search functions enable you to filter files by extensive criteria like extension, owner, or files not used since a specified date. All data can be filtered or grouped by certain parameters like user name or file extension. SpaceObServer supports the international character standard Unicode.
The SpaceObServer Client application allows to access information of scanned directories, from an additional computer in your network. It has the same user interface than the SpaceObServer, but it dos not include the SpaceObServer system service.
